The fastest animal on the planet cheetah, which all killed in india. The last cheetah killed in india around 1950 and only now the steps taken to bring them back to india from Africa. There is a hot debate going on between the various organisations about the 260 Crore worth Cheetah reintroduction project in India. Cheetahs are the only wild cats that become disappeared on the Indian soils while the Lions, Tigers and Leopards survives. In fact, even the name Cheetah is from the Tamil language. Now the Asiatic Cheetahs are only exists in Iran in small numbers and its counterparts African Cheetahs are in large numbers (10,000) left in various countries of Africa.

The Iran refuses to give its Cheetahs to India's for the reintroduction purpose and demanding Asiatic Lions as a return. So, now the India has planned to buy Cheetahs from Namibia. But some argues that African Cheetahs are a distinct species and must not introduce in India. According to wildlife guidelines introducing another species into a new environment which harm the native species. If introduced then they will spoil the ecosystem of India. But introducing will increase the number of tourism to India and increase revenue. Members, do you support or oppose this project?

It is hard to find a satisfying solution for both sides, but there should be a way to join international programmes (WWF, etc.), as various zoos all over the world are cooperating in a series of breeding and reintroduction projects for endangered species, including the Asiatic lion and several subspecies of cheetahs, as also the African subspecies are endangered. But that involves the restoring of natural habitats, their vegetation and wildlife, and their total protection.
