Don't know much about it really. As far as I can see? Windows Mobile or Windows Phone have been discontinued and there is only an app now. I see the Edge is featured in the app but I never cared much for the Edge either. It's possible that the app will do what the old Mobile used to do but doesn't make your device completely a Windows device.
