Is there any etymological connection between afon and 'Afton' in the Burns poem?
Afon is Welsh for river.I am floundering with the Burns poem.
"Flow gently, sweet Afton".
I am guessing Afton is a Scottish Gaelic for river.
That's what I guessed.
